The Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) requires almost all employers to pay employees the minimum wage and to pay non-exempt employees (hourly or salaried) 1½ times their regular rate for working overtime—more 40 hours a week. FSLA also provides for penalties against employers who discipline or discharge employees who complain about lack of wage practices. Talk with us if you think your rights have been violated. The Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) requires employers with 50 or more employees to provide up to 12 weeks of medical leave for employees who experience serious medical conditions or must care for close family members who are experiencing serious medical conditions. If you’ve been denied medical leave or have harassed, disciplined, or discharged for taking covered medical leave, talk with us. We’ll file the necessary claims to ensure your right to medical leave is protected under this federal act.
